The Swiss Carnival is called “Fasnacht”. And as it is custom in our neck of the woods, Fasnacht can differ from town to town. Over 200 carnivals take place throughout Switzerland, and though traditionally most last from Dirty Thursday to Ash Wednesday.

Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in Zurich at the end of September since 2005. The ZFF has developed rapidly in the few years since its foundation and now attracts a total of more than 90.000 visitors. The 13th Zurich Film Festival takes place from September 28 – October 8, 2017.

The 183rd Oktoberfest started on September 17th as it ended on October 3rd: cool and rainy. In between, however, late summer weather attracted Oktoberfest fans from Munich and all over the world.
The 41st Ryder Cup Matches were held in the United States from September 30 to October 2, 2016, at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, a suburb southwest of Minneapolis. Europe entered the competition as the cup holders, having won in 2014 in Scotland for their third consecutive win.
The Sziget Festival is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe. It is held every August in northern Budapest, Hungary, on Óbudai-sziget, a leafy 108-hectare island on the Danube. More than 1,000 performances take place each year.
The Rio Olympics ended with a spectacular carnival-inspired closing ceremony, and the official handover to 2020 hosts Tokyo. The colourful ceremony, lasting almost three hours, celebrated Brazil’s arts and was held in a wet Maracana.
